To the EFA Council and Members

Dear colleagues!

Ukrainian Association of Driving Schools (UADS) asks to support our proposal to include in the new Directive of the European Parliament and Council the issue of granting permission and the ability to work and drive vehicles with automatic transmissions and additional control devices to soldiers who lost in the war:

Two legs: categories B, C1, D1;
One of the limbs (arm or leg) by categories B, C1, C, D1, D, CE.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine has started training such drivers for categories B and C1, but after Ukraine's victory in this war, it will be necessary to help adapt to soldiers, who have lost limbs and give them the opportunity to fully drive vehicles on EU roads.

As of 01.01.2024, no information was found on the total number of disabled people in Ukraine, by 2022 the number of disabled people numbered more than 2 million 800 thousand people with the status of disabled, of which 151 thousand are children. This was 6.1% of the total population. Almost 80% of disabled people are people of working age.
